Lovely Rita, hurricane
Lovely Rita, hurricane,
Only high pressure can come between us.
When it gets low you blow my roof away...
Standing on a Gulf-side street, eh
When I caught a glimpse of Rita
Stirring up seawaves and the fish on the hooks.
In the sea, she looked much slower,
But the clouds upon her shoulders
Made her look a little like the Michelin Man.
Lovely Rita, hurricane,
May I stay here indefinitely
You aren't Katrina, don't try removing me...
Stuck it out and tried to shake her
Ended up under water
Told her that I never want to see her again...
Got the bill, insurance paid it
I went home and cleaned the basement
Sitting on a sofa from the local Goodwill
Oh, lovely Rita, hurricane,
Where would I be without you,
Give us a storm and make me think of you.....
